: I've been a language nerd since school. I taught English to overseas students in the UK for many years. My French and German are around C1 level. I'm now learning Italian, which I find relatively easy because I already know French at an advanced level. I play piano (self-taught) and like standards of the 1930s/40s/50s ... in other words 'Great American Songbook'. I retired 25 years ago and since then my wife and I have spent 6 months every year in the UK and 6 months in France and Germany.
