: I live in the South West of England and have worked as a writer of various sorts for most of my life. I'm trying to learn Italian but have only used Duolingo - so I've never spoken to anyone. T I can say lots of useful things like "Lo squalo mangia la balena" but I suspect this may not be the best way to become proficient in a language! I'd like to get some basics on board but in the future I'd love to be able to discuss books, films, art, food, the environment or politics in Italian.

تفصيل: I'm happy to chat away with you in English, intervening with corrections to the extent you would like. Whilst I'm not a teacher by profession I would be happy to design lessons if that would work better for you. I've been reading literature for some time in French and I watch French news analysis to avoid UK news which has crappy subtitles in French that help a lot....but I have no one to talk to so my comprehension is much better than my rudimentary spoken ability.
